About how long was the span of time between desiring for this building and its appearance, if want itself was a factor at all? Is this technology ahead of that found in 2012, or of a differing engineering standard altogether? Is it possible to build this core with raw materials provided?
Since my arrival. That will put us at roughly 3 weeks, 25 days to be exact. What I have is technology from the future, of much more complicated engineering than what could be found in the current world's technology. I have not attempted it yet but I wouldn't be surprised if I couldn't. It was build by the best of the most brilliant minds from my world, my skill and understanding alone wouldn't be enough.
I see. I believe that marks its appaeance one of those that took the longest to appear. And what sort of facility is this, such as what sort research or learning can be done there?
It's primarily focused of computer, although it looks like the Landlord has taken my other wishes into consideration as it came equipped with a gym and observatory as well. There's a research center, a computer manufacturing factory, retails shops, electronic library and learning center.
Given the other data, it is more likely that this instance is simply an outlier.
Is it possible to conduct an experiment involving the process of aging? There are reasons to suspect that the progression of mortality may be non-existent, and I wish to test this. First and foremost, as soon as someone turns the age of eighteen in Holly Heights, they are officially recognized as adults and assigned to a new house. While the physical difference in age is difficult to discern within the span of two months, there are other minute aspects that would be revealing. I do not mean anything that would take years, such as the elasticity of skin or hair coloring to grey, but rather the difference of age in a person between one month and the next, or the difference in generations between a cell and its daughter. Certainly there should be some tell-tale point of interest that shows that time has progressed. From what I gathered at the library, a promising theory is using telomeres to determine the difference between cellular generations. If this is anything to go by, a paradigm can be made to investigate whether or not the processes involving the shortening of telomeres has been effectively halted or given a better repair system upon arrival. If so, the results would point to that a biological aspect of aging has stopped. I should like to cooperate in this investigation, if at all possible.
I do not have such technology available. Why are you suddenly interested in this matter? It could easily be manipulated by the Landlord who has already demonstrated his grasp on time and dimension. I would think we have more pressing matters to investigate than the issue of aging. The shield for example, is of immediate concern as it bars our exit from this place.
[He doesn't have the technology here but he does have knowledge about aging suppression but this isn't a subject he's willing to share with someone whose trust is not proven and most importantly not of Celestial Being. As an Innovade and having merged with Veda, Tieria is more than aware of his biological make up, one that would at least gives insight to the aging process Eiki is asking about.]
The barrier is one area of investigation; this so called perpetual immortality and and halted aging is another. Both are equally important, with the latter giving indication as to how long the Landlord may wish to keep the residents here and how much time we may use to go about other inquiries. I am quite familiar with a few methods and energies that delay aging and death in my own world. Before I investigate those processes I wish to out-rule the possibility of more natural and common mechanisms, or at the very least determine the possible resulting effects of anti- or delayed- aging here. This would allow further understanding of the basis the Landlord uses for the power of suspension he may use over the residents. If you do not have the current technology now, it is possible that such devices will appear later.
[ Comes with being a Yama. But it's okay; she knows of another person that could help with the lab equipment. It's basic grad school stuff. ]
I do not wish to spend time on this matter. My immediate concern is still the shield and information control. Whatever we are researching must not fall into wrong hands, much less to the Landlord. If you must investigate the matter of aging, you are on your own.
Very well. Once I obtain the equipment required, would I be able to use your facility or shall I have to find another organization? I can pay for the necessary amount of rental of labratory required.
