As someone has graciously recommended, it would be both helpful and useful to accumulate basic information regarding Holly Heights. To all, I offer a preliminary draft of a proposed index that may be given to new arrivals attached to this message. The following information I have compiled from my own investigation of Holly Heights, speaking with other residents here, writing to the Landlord, and personal experience of two weeks time. Anyone is welcome to recommend information, add, critique, and, of course, propose revisions. Please note that these summaries are subject to change and updates as new information presents itself.
Holly Heights is a gated community that mimics a typical suburban setting in a modern western country, speculatively that of the United States of America circa 2012. The Lessor provides new arrivals a Lease upon which it is said the given contract was signed. As of yet, no one here remembers signing or giving consent to this contract. The basic rules of the land, the members of their assigned family, and their status in their family are also outlined in this Lease. At the most, families consist of two parents and two children. The required age for a "parent" is 18 years. When an individual turns this age in Holly Heights, they are evicted from their current home and relocated to a new home in which they have been made a "parent". Those younger than 18 are considered "children", and it appears those of 16 years are awarded a divers' license. Finally, all are given a set of keys to their home, a care if applicable, and the respective gates of Holly Heights and an account with a pre-set value of $500. The various gates are as follows:
Housing: All residents are assigned a home and family here. Houses come equipped with various amenities. The Landlord's home can also be found within this gate; however, touching the handle results in the individual instantly being returned to the front of their home. A hospital, an obsolete jail, a court of justice, numerous parks, and a Christian church are also located here.
Shopping: This sector contains various shops and businesses including the Holly Heights mall and library. Food from the local grocers is completely free, but all restaurant and businesses in town require the use of electronic currency.
Pleasure: This gate offers more businesses specializing in leisure and recreation.
Alumni: This is where the schools of Holly Heights are all stationed. The educational system encompasses an elementary to university level: Inkberry Elementary School, Honey Maid Middle School, Altaciere High School, and Emily Brumer University. [Please note that while I am not familiar with the quality of education in the elementary, middle, and high schools, the university classes appear to be sub-par and only run for 30 minutes at most.]
When a resident first arrives, any ability or hindrance that may be considered supernatural or magical in quality has been negated. Any being that was not human in their own world has been turned human here. In addition, any being that was not mortal has been made mortal. The primary language is English and all are given innate knowledge of writing, speaking, and understanding this language upon arrival. One's level of grammar and lexicon are carried over from the level of mastery of their original language. If an individual specifically concentrates on their native tongue, only then can their language be produced.
All residents are provided with a personal cellular phone. Models and make appear of many different varieties, but all appear to have access to the community forum. The forum began approximately around the beginning of May, and all posts have been archived since. If one would like basic instructions on how to use a phone, Darcy Lewis has offered her knowledge to act as tutor. She may be contacted here. An accurate count of how many residents of Holly Heights can be found by simply looking through the contact list provided on their cellular phone. Home numbers and the accurate names of residents are updated regularly. Those that have vanished altogether can no longer be contacted through this list, and it serves as a good indication for when a resident has vanished. Through this, a census of Holly Heights can be found.
Although there has been a great influx of community residents since May 1st, no one here has seen any sort of construction for houses or businesses besides the bar run by Miss Jo, in which she had requested of the Lessor for it to appear that way. In the shopping district, the location of the wanted business can be specifically picked out by the individual. The time lapse for a business or building appearing after initial wish, want, or request is provided is around two weeks to six days.
Currently, there is no way to pass through the outermost gate surrounding Holly Heights. Jumping over, digging under, flying above, or passing through the bars results in one being relocated to the same side. One investigator has determined that the energy composing of this barrier is not of anything of his world, although it remains untested if the energy is similar to those found on other worlds. If anyone would like to offer information of the energies of their world for him for comparative analysis to the barrier, his contact information will be given upon request. Despite current attempts and investigation, here has been no reports of a successful escape from Holly Heights. If one of those who have disappeared without a word escaped back to their home world, they have not notified any others since.
